Yoga classes in Exeter, book here

My yoga classes run in themes for five weeks.  This allows for people to put in place adaptions to suit their body and learn the different options of each yoga flow that are right for them. After the five weeks you will find each yoga flow published on my blog, with a free interactive copy.  You will find the yoga class for this theme below.

Yoga class - Twists

Greetings, yogis of Exeter! As we embark on a new term of yoga classes, I'm thrilled to introduce our latest yoga theme: twists. In our recent yoga flow, we explored the transformative power of twisting yoga postures—a yoga practice designed to refresh and restore both the spine and digestive organs.

Twists in yoga are like a revitalising elixir for the body, offering a multitude of benefits that extend far beyond the physical realm. As we rotate the spine and stretch the muscles of the back, we help maintain the length and resilience of the soft tissues surrounding the spine. This not only increases blood flow to the spine but also decompresses the vertebrae, improving nerve health and restoring the spine's natural range of motion.

But perhaps most notably, twists have a profound impact on digestive function. By gently wringing out the abdomen, twists stimulate the digestive organs and promote cellular detoxification in the area. This fresh influx of blood encourages optimal digestion and absorption of nutrients, while also promoting bowel regularity and reducing bloating.

In Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing science closely linked to yoga, twists are revered for their ability to stimulate Agni—a digestive fire that plays a crucial role in breaking down food and assimilating nutrients. By stoking this internal fire, twists help ensure efficient digestion and enhance overall well-being.

If you're curious to experience the revitalising effects of our recent yoga twist flow, I invite you to explore the yoga sequence below. With the interactive layout, you can scroll through the yoga flow, print a copy, or even play it in real-time on your screen. Whether you're joining us in the yoga studio or practicing at home, this accessible and empowering yoga sequence is suitable for yoga practitioners of all levels.

So, if you're ready to rejuvenate your body and digestive system through the healing power of twists, I encourage you to dive into this transformative yoga practice. Your body will thank you for it, and you'll emerge feeling refreshed and revitalised.
